Project Overview

Our challenge was to create an inclusive third-party mobile app for elders with special needs to help bridge the technology gap in 2 weeks. Therefore, we decided to design an app for an automatic dispenser for seniors and their caretakers considering the usability for the target audience.

Primary goal
of the app

Given the short time frame we have, we decided to do a quick research and created main goals for our app design. Followings are our main goal for the Purpill, targeting the senior users.

1. Enhanced Visual Accessibility: To accommodate seniors with visual difficulties, we enlarged text and used a simplified colour palette for improved visibility.

2. Efficient Pill Management: Our app introduces pill alerts and reminders, aiding caregivers and seniors in tracking remaining pills in the dispenser for better medication management.

3. Guided User Tutorial: We created an intuitive, step-by-step tutorial in the app, enabling seniors to easily grasp its features, even if they're not tech-savvy.
